Industrial IoT

Bitia designs and develops Industrial IoT solutions for the collection, integration, and enhancement of data coming from production plants and factory systems.

IoT projects require a wide range of skills, from interfacing with field devices to analyzing the collected data. Our teams combine technological expertise with knowledge of industrial processes to deliver integrated solutions that support the continuous improvement of production activities.

We support companies in connecting their plants, collecting and analyzing data, and developing applications that enable operators and production managers to make decisions based on up-to-date and reliable information.

Full-stack expertise: from field to data

An Industrial IoT project requires the ability to manage the entire technology stack connecting machines, information systems, and analytics applications.

Bitia has developed expertise across the entire value chain of the digital factory:

Field data acquisition

  • interfacing with PLCs and production machines
  • use of industrial gateways for data collection
  • integration of sensors and smart devices
  • support for major industrial protocols

Edge computing and connectivity

  • data processing directly at the edge
  • edge architectures to filter and prepare data
  • secure transmission to cloud or on-premise systems

Integration with enterprise systems

  • integration with ERP, MES, and other information systems
  • orchestration of data flows between factory and enterprise systems
  • use of workflows to manage events and operational processes

Data lake and analytics

  • collection of industrial data in data lake architectures
  • correlation with enterprise data and production history
  • business intelligence applications and process analytics

Machine learning and predictive analytics

  • development of analytical and forecasting models based on collected data
  • predictive maintenance applications
  • algorithms to improve operational performance

This approach enables the transformation of field data into valuable insights for improving processes and operational decision-making.

Connected Factory

Connected Factory is the solution developed by Bitia to support Industry 4.0 initiatives and to interconnect production lines with enterprise information systems.

The solution stems from the combination of IoT expertise and deep knowledge of industrial processes gained across various manufacturing contexts.

Connected Factory enables:

  • automatic data collection from machines and PLCs on production lines
  • monitoring of plant status and detection of machine downtime events
  • calculation of production efficiency indicators such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • analysis of cycle times and operating parameters of production lines
  • monitoring of energy consumption and equipment usage
  • activation of operational workflows in case of anomalies or intervention requests

The collected data can be visualized in real time through custom web applications or stored in a data lake for deeper analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

The architecture is designed to integrate with existing information systems and can be extended with machine learning models for predictive maintenance and process optimization.

Integration between technology and industrial processes

Digital factory projects are not just about technology—they also require a deep understanding of operational processes and production dynamics.

Alongside technical expertise, Bitia brings experience in areas such as:

  • production and supply chain
  • quality and compliance
  • lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • integration of information systems with factory environments
  • management of operational workflows

This approach allows the design of IoT solutions that go beyond simple data collection, actively contributing to the improvement of production performance.
